Las Vegas: North Strip

We spent our first day in Vegas walking non-stop, so my friends and I made the call to take it a little easier for day two.

Starting from our hotel, Paris Las Vegas, we headed across the street and made our way to Caesar’s Palace to explore.

Caesar’s Palace is super beautiful — from the huge Roman statues throughout the hotel, to the Forum shops mall attached to the building. It was also a bonus to be exploring almost entirely indoors. When you’re in Vegas, the air conditioning is never taken for granted.

We checked out some of the shops for a while, and then continued our journey north to the Venetian.

It was nice to take a look at the gorgeous Venetian hotel, but I’d be lying if I said we weren’t there for a specific reason.

Inside the Venetian there is a restaurant called Black Tap. And Black Tap has the most extravagant milkshakes I’ve ever seen. We knew we had to get a couple of milkshakes with our lunch that day.

Brandon and I got the fruity pebbles milkshake and our friends got the cookies and cream milkshake — they truly were delicious. Black Tap should be on every visitor’s itinerary.

Our big plan for the day was to enjoy dinner and a show, so we swung by the hotel to rest for a minute and get cleaned up, then we headed to Bobby Flay’s Amalfi at Caesar’s Palace.

We made reservations for Amalfi as soon as we booked this trip. Brandon was really excited to eat at a Bobby Flay restaurant, and it did not disappoint.

The food was incredible — I had a caprese salad, filet mignon and a tiramisu for dessert as part of a three-course pre-set meal.

And then it was time to head just outside of Caesar’s Palace to the Absinthe tent.

Absinthe is a raunchy circus-style show that takes place in a small circus tent, which means every seat in this tent is a great seat! I don’t think any of us truly knew what to expect from this show, but it was amazing. I’d genuinely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a super entertaining show in Vegas (for adult audiences).

We all were so pumped up by the excitement of the show that we ended up going for a walk for another hour or so and enjoying the Vegas night lights before heading back to the hotel and calling it a day.
