Las Vegas: the Best Bites

Vegas doesn’t do anything half-way, and that includes the food!

Everything we ate in Las Vegas was extravagant and over the top, in terms of both taste or presentation.

Take a look below at the best place I ate in Las Vegas!

Two Polaroids. One of a yellow sign that reads "Best Friend. BBQ, Food, Snacks". The other is a plate filled with beef and rice.

Best Friend (Korean, $$)

Best Friend was one of my favourite restaurants on this Vegas trip. You get huge portions of shareable Korean dishes that are jam-packed with flavour.

If you’re interested, I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time to make sure you get a spot!

Three Polaroids. Two are of various plates of food on a table. The centre image is a person posing with their dessert.

Bobby Flay’s Amalfi (Italian, $$$)

My first Vegas trip led me to eat at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, so this time it was Bobby Flay’s turn.

We ordered steak, pasta, salad and sides and all tried each other’s meals. The food was pretty good, but not mind-blowing – I was more interested in the cocktails and dessert (tiramisu, of course).

Two Polaroids. One of four people taking a selfie in a colourful restaurant. The other is a plate filled with curly fries and a large cheeseburger.

Peppermill (American, $$)

Peppermill was the epitome of Americana in Vegas. Absolutely delicious food in outrageous portions.

I had a California burger with avocado and spicy curly fries with ranch dip. So incredible.

Two Polaroids. One of a salad with peaches. The other is a person smiling with a plate of pasta.

Esther’s Kitchen (Italian, $$)

If you’re craving solid Italian food, head off-strip and go to Esther’s Kitchen.

We ordered pasta and flatbread, and a warm peach salad – all of which were just amazing. The service was incredible, and the vibes were immaculate. We spent the whole dinner laughing until our sides hurt.

One of my must-visit recommendations for food in Vegas.

Two Polaroids. One of a lit up sign reading "Beauty & Essex". The other is a plate of red spoons each with tomato soup and a small dumpling.

Beauty & Essex (American, $$$)

Beauty & Essex in the Cosmo is a new American restaurant set up like a speakeasy in the back of a pawn shop.

Make a reservation ahead of time to try some really memorable eats, like the epic tomato soup dumplings!

We also tried the steak and super tasty desserts. Honestly, everything was so good.

Three Polaroids. One of two cocktails. One os a big burger topped with an egg. One of a large platter of various barbecued foods.

Soulbelly BBQ (Barbecue, $$)

Soulbelly will probably be my number one recommendation for food in Vegas.

Next level barbecue at a reasonable price. We tried platters with pork belly, sandwiches, corn bread, coleslaw, pickles – more food than any of us could eat.

If you’re a carnivore, do yourself a favour: venture off-Strip and eat at Soulbelly.

Two Polaroids. Each photo is of a person smiling with a plate of food.

Eiffel Tower Restaurant (French, $$$)

We’d booked the Eiffel Tower Restaurant brunch a month or so before embarking on our Vegas trip, so we knew what we were in for: a delicious three-course brunch with stunning views of the Bellagio fountain.

I ordered the caprese salad starter and apple strudel for dessert, but I was most excited to try the French toast a la crème brûlée with maple orange syrup. It tasted even better than it sounds.

You pay for the views, but it’s totally worth it.

Two Polaroids. Both are of a couple smiling with a large milkshake topped with whipped cream.

Black Tap Milkshakes (Bar & Grill, $$)

Black Tap is a bar and grill spot inside the Venetian, but the food is not the reason to go. It’s the epic milkshakes.

I had the Fruity Pebble milkshake and my friends got the Cookies & Cream shake, and they were both to die for.

If you’re a fan of sweets, I really recommend making your way to Black Tap.

Which of these spots are on your Vegas list?

An e-signature that says "mish the wallflower".
