Las Vegas: Pool Days, Concert Nights

This was the day in Vegas I had been looking forward to since before we even got on the plane.

Almost immediately after booking our flights and hotel for this trip, I realized The Killers would be doing a two-week residency in Vegas. So I very quickly booked a ticket to one of the shows. The chance to see one of my favourite bands in their hometown? Yes please!

My friends and I kicked off the day with a brunch at Mon Ami Gabi, in our Paris Las Vegas hotel.

Two Polaroids. One of a large fruit crepe on a plate. The other is a person smiling with a plate of eggs.

Nothing hits the spot quite like berry crepes on a patio.

Then we went for a short walk along the Strip before heading back to our hotel for what I’ve dubbed as Pool Day.

The group of us decided to book a cabana at the Paris Las Vegas pool, which was such a good idea. It reserved us a shaded cabana tent (shade is very important for this group) with a TV, fans, and a fridge to keep our drinks cold.

Two Polaroids. One of three people taking a selfie in a pool. One of two people giving a thumbs up in a pool in front of an Eiffel Tower.

It was such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon – taking dips in the pool situated right underneath the Vegas Eiffel Tower, sipping on a pina colada under the sun. It’s not something I get to experience often, being from Toronto, so I cherish those sunny pool days.

Before I knew it, it was time to get ready for my concert that night!

Two slices of pizza. One has pepperoni and sausage, and one has sausage and cheese.

Secret Pizza (Aug 2024)

We stopped at Secret Pizza, a little joint in the Cosmo down a narrow hallway serving up deliciously cheesy slices of pizza, for a good bite before the show.

I’d never been to a concert alone before, and when I found my seat, I started to feel a bit silly. There was no one to talk to or get hyped about the concert with. Had I made a mistake doing this on my own?

Three Polaroids. Two of a band on the stage at a concert. One is a person giving a peace sign in front of a sign that reads "The Killers Live in Vegas".

The Killers at the Colosseum (Aug 2024)

But once The Killers came out and the music started, I knew this wasn’t a mistake at all. It was an epic show where I didn’t have to worry about anything but how much fun I was having.

It was such a great experience, and I’m glad to do it at the Colosseum in Vegas.

An e-signature that reads "mish the wallflower".
